On the menu today: New Hampshire holds its primary today, and Nikki Haley’s campaign may have enjoyed its best moment, winning the tiny town of Dixville Notch, six votes to none for Donald Trump or any other Republican. (Every cycle, Dixville Notch votes after midnight and immediately tallies its votes, generating some news coverage. Hey, it’s New Hampshire on a weeknight in late January. There’s not a lot else to do.) Today, we’ll turn our attention to the argument that “democracy is at stake” in the upcoming presidential election, and everything that we, the American people, are expected to compromise on because the stakes are so high.
